The Impact of Using Social Networking Sites at Work on Organizational Knowledge

Many of the employers fear a reduction in productivity when employees use social networking sites (SNSs) such as Facebook for non-work purposes during office hours. Employers then have started regulating SNSs usage at work, but extreme monitoring and blockage can spoil relationship between negatively affect organizational knowledge (OK). Therefore, this study investigates effect using on OK by work. Collecting data from working national multinational organizations structural equation modelling analysis, results showed that business activities emotional disclosure enhanced OK. In contrast to these findings, work deviation caused decreased had no productivity. Finally, concluded benefits are increasingly growing require transparent policies reduce employee distractions.
